Arguably the best selling Fenestration product in the UK, composite doors offer excellent style and security. Learn more about the different types of construction, and the best option for you home below.
Types of Composite Door
The name 'Composite' is simply derived from the fact that the doors are composed of a number of different materials to create the different properties within the door. In most cases these include:
GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) colourbonded outer skin
Steel Frame
Central filling
Gasket seal and brush seal
The most commonly used (and cheapest) central filling is foam, which provides insulation to the door reducing heat loss to the outside, however this foam is prone to expanding and contracting in different temperatures causing the door to become sticky to open when hot. At Integrity Home Improvements we offer three varieties; the standard foam core (featuring LVL for reduced temperature response), our hybrid SoliCore door, as well as a double rebated 70mm door for maximum security and thermal performance.
What's the difference?
Steel frame
PU Foam Core
Laminated Veneer Frame to reduce response to extremes of temperature
GRP bonded outerskin
Single Gasket and Brush Seal
6 point deadlock with 3* cylinder
High density PIR foam of a quality far exceeding standard density foam used.
HDF sheets offering excellent rigidity and performance
Aluminium sheeting for maximum security; also preventing moisture ingress and expansion/contraction
Marine Grade Plywood for extra strength
GRP outer skin, uniquely bonded for seamless bonding to the rest of the door
Single Gasket and Brush Seal
6 point deadlock with 3* cylinder
High Density CFC-Free Polyurethane Core
Perimeter water-resistand solid polymer subframe reinforced with Laminated Veneered Lumbar
Water-resistant polyment Composite Rails
Thermoset GRP Skin
Twin Gasket, dual rebated seals for exceptional thermal performance
10/12 point locking system (dependent on height) with 3* star cylinder
Reinforced GRP skins - available in woodgrain or smooth (to match our Aluminium Range fully)
6 point locking - 3 dead bolts, 2 hook bolts and a central lock with 3* Yale Anti-snap barrel and 5 keys as standard

We guarantee the colour-fastness of our composite doors for 10 years, and everything else for 15 years.
We can install Composite Doors with and without a letter box, depending on your preferences. In some doors styles the location of the letter plate may be restricted by the amount of glazing.
There are minimum and maximum size constraints for composite doors, and this will be dictated by the style of door you choose. If you have seen a door you like, then we are happy to advise on the indiviudual size constraints of that particular style. The minimum width we can install a 44mm Composite door into is 854mm from edge to edge of the plaster line.
